If you are reading this because you have an electrical issue with your car, do yourself a favor and bring it immediately to Silverlake Automotive. Me? Car: dune buggy. Year: 1969 VW Bug pan, unknown body from an unknown manufacturer. To say this is a custom vehicle would be an understatement. As fun as it is to drive, it has had an electrical problem ever since I bought it years ago: would not charge the battery. I replaced the alternator and battery but no change. The amp meter never read above 10 on this 12 volt system. After recent luck with Silverlake Automotive on my son's Grand Am, I decided to bring the dune buggy in. Because it is a custom vehicle with many decades worth of backyard electrical work, the wiring on this thing looks like the proverbial rat's nest. With a HUGE sigh (I assume), the pros at Silverlake started the job. I was told later that they actually had to reverse-engineer the electrical system and trace out all the components. In the end I now have a sweet summer ride that I can enjoy with no stress or worries about dead batteries. Because of the amount of time and effort required to fix it, I was afraid the bill would be exorbitantly high...but it wasn't. The cost was extremely fair and reasonable, the service was professional, the results were SPECTACULAR!!!! Many thanks to the Silverlake Automotive team!!!
